The stunning Pacific Coast is a short drive over the Highway 46 from 101.  There are quaint small beach towns of Cayucas, San Simeon and Cambria. The Hearst Castle is also an easy day trip and worth visiting.  We recommend making reservations to tour the castle.  Click here to reserve a Hearst Castle tour  The views descending from Highway 46 are sweeping vistas of the great Pacific featuring the rock at Morrow Bay and north towards Big Sur.

We found a beautiful day hike at the trail head of Harmony Headlands just south of intersection 46 and PCH.  Harmony Headlands offers parking and a level winding walk through grassy meadows filled with deer and birds that leads into a wide gap in the coast mountains to reveal pristine coastline and coves of sea otters.
